• Chehalis / BawFaw
  • Seattle / West Tiger Mtn 2 (Pending installation May 2026 by the BEARS)
  • Bellingham / Lookout Mtn
  • Potential Expansion: Portland OR / Vancouver WA (difficult due to coordination)

PNWDigital currently has 3 repeaters that co-channel on 146.500 and cover the I-5 travel corridor and beyond.

This is the combined coverage of BawFaw West Tiger and Lookout Mtn VHF repeaters showing coverage from Oregon to British Columbia. I-5 is the target coverage as it is a primary travel corridor.

We also have I-90 travel corridor co-channeling on 147.4125 by the repeaters in Ellensburg, Ephrata, Beasley Hill and Krell VHF (not shown).

As you likely aleady know, the c-Bridge provides us the ability to expand our repeater footprints by way of Internet linking. More interestingly, it can also allow or enable us to use the same pairs for multiple repeaters on the same pairs, same color codes. It might be considered a poor man’s roaming or system of voting receivers. We have several sets of repeaters that have used this technique for years both on the east side and west side of Washington for the I-5 and I-90 travel corridors (Ellensburg / Ephrata / Beasley Hill / Krell VHF). The overlapping coverage is a plus and there is almost never any noticeable capture effort to degrade user’s reception.

You may consider either of these repeater sets above as roaming channel or group. The user’s transmission will sync-up with whichever repeater (closest or best) and then repeat that transmission out on the co-channel repeaters depending on the talkgroup. This works best for full-time talkgroups which are our statewide Washington 1, Cascades, I-5, PNW Regional, etc.
