Audio (ALQ)

Audio levels and quality (ALQ) are a living, breathing problem that typically are ignored by talkers and listeners seldom inform talkers about their audio problems. Nets are especially problematic due to the wide levels from soft to HOT. The quality of DMR audio is a lesser but important component.

PNWDigital has created the Parrot echo server and the Audio Meter, 2 online resources to let members help themselves dial-in the best audio possible. We have found that OTA reporting by the listeners is subjective at best and that the human ear cannot provide decent objective reporting. So please use the tools and get together with a buddy, net control station or a member of the tech team and actively work on your ALQ.

For more information, please read the ALQ page (may be offline for updating) to learn more about audio and how to improve it.
