Anytone – “Basics”

These settings are very important and need to be made if you are using an Anytone on the PNWDigital network. Anytone stock, Bridgecom and Brandmeister codeplugs use different settings.

Please check to insure that your radio has these correct settings. The network is designed to function best with these settings not to mention, they provide a better experience with less frustration. Our stock and starter Anytone codeplugs have these setting already programmed. These settings are listed in order of importance:

Basics

  1. Talker Alias: (Common Setting, Optional Settings, Digital, Send Talker Alias) — Box should be unchecked
  2. Group Call Hang Time: (Common Setting, Optional Settings, Digital Func) — Set to “1s” for 1 second (default is 3 seconds)
  3. TX Permit: (Common Setting, Channel, Channel Level, Channel Information Edit, TX Permit) — Set to “Same Color Code”
  4. Talk Permit: (Common Setting, Optional Settings, Alert Tone, Talk Permit) — Set to “Digital” (or Digital and Analog)
  5. Call Permit Tone: (Common Setting, Optional Settings, Alert Tone, Call Permit Tone) — Set to pleasant tones (we use the MotoTRBO tones, stock tones are very annoying)

Details

  • Talker Alias — Unchecked at the channel level On PNWDigital
  • Group Call Hang Time — Set to “1s” for 1 second (default is 3 seconds)
    • 1 second enable a user to easily PTT out of an active TG or into another
  • TX Permit (Channel Level) — Set to “Same Color Code”
    • These insures that you do not talk over an active user and that the talkgroup is available
  • Talk Permit (Optional Settings, Alert Tone, Talk Permit) — Set to “Digital” (or Digital and Analog)
    • This turns on the tone that you will hear after you key up once the network give your radio the go-ahead
  • Call Permit Tone — Set to pleasant tones (we use the MotoTRBO tones, stock tones are very annoying)
    • Stock tones are annoying so use the following tones:
      • FIREST: 1750 / 40
      • SECOND: 1050 / 40
      • THRID: 1570 40
      • FOURTH: 1320 / 40
      • FIVTH: 0 / 0

These settings will help you to get the best performance and least frustration with our large network as well as provide all our users the same benefits from a radio that rudely barges in to the network.
